Buying a Parrot Cage

March 31st, 2009

Living alone can lead people to find activities outside for companionship. There are times when you find yourself all alone in your house and have nothing to do. A parrot then as a pet is a good thing for you to think about in order for you to have at least a friend rather than being at home alone. However, you have to somehow bear in mind that having a parrot as a pet is a commitment on your part. A parrot required plenty of attention, love and care. As a matter of fact, taking good care of a parrot starts with choosing the best parrot cage.

There are many parrot cages on the market today for you to choose from. Not all though will be built to a good standard. Many a parrot cage available today in your average pet store are built to look great and get the attention of the parrot owner rather than being built with the parrot’s health and well being in mind. There are many things you should be looking for in parrot cage before purchasing.

Your most important consideration is of course the size of the parrot cage. As big as your budget and the room you intend to keep the cage will allow should be your target.

Make sure the cage you are considering has pull out trays to make cleaning easy. Wheels also help you to clean the cage.

If it looks quality and isn’t cheap then its probably a good cage. Run your fingers along the doors and between bars. Can you feel any sharp edges? Are you sure your parrot will be safe?
